The Rabbis added the following Mitzvot regarding Festivals
 

1.   Reading the Megillah on Purim
 

Purim has 4 observances:
 

  • Reading the Megillah

  • Gifts to the poor

  • 2 foods given to friends

  • Festive meal

2.   Lighting the Menorah on Chanukah
 

Chanukah has 2 observances:
 

  • Lighting the Menorah and

  • reciting Hallel/ Praises
