54

Do not lend anything to a Jew at interest, be it money or something to eat or other things.

“You shall not give him money and charge interest nor take food provisions in usury.”

Vayikra 25:37

The term Interest and Usury means the same thing but divided into two to make the lender doubly liable. Baba Metzia p60

The lender violates - 53 “not to put interest to him and additionally “not to take interest or increase from him” Vayikra 25:36

The nature of man is to charge interest and requires effort to remove this from himself.

In effect everywhere, in every time for men and women

Do not lend anything to a Jew at interest, be it money or something to eat or other things.
