Do not destroy any holy thing nor erase any  holy name

 

 “ Do not do this to the Lord your God” Devarim  12:4

 

This means the 7 Divine names are not to be erased.

If a person erases even 1 letter from them he should receive lashes.

 

If someone erases letters added to the Name as a suffix in the singular or plural he should receive a lashes for disobedience.

 

If an object has the Divine name written on it , the area with the name is to be cut out and burried.

 

If someone wrote a Divine name on metal and then melted the metal he should receive a lashes.

 

If anyone destroys the Holy Scriptures or their commentaries written by a holy Jew he should receive lashes for disobedience.

 

If a heretic wrote them they are burned with all the Divine names included.

 

It is forbidden to break or destroy any holy object.

 

This applies in all places at all times form men and women.
