Do not swear in the name of an idol.
“Do not mention the name of other gods” Shmos 23:14
Do not make a vow in the name of an idol.
Included in this prohibition is not to make a heathen swear by his revered object.
Even to mention an idols name not for an oath is forbidden.
A person should not say to his friend “wait for me by such and such an idol” or similar things.
When an idol is written in Holy Scriptures it is permissible to mention the name for example Peor, Bel, Nevo etc.
It is forbidden to cause others to vow or swear in its name.
This applies in all places at all times for men and women.
